Purchasing & Materials Analyst
Own the Materials. Strengthen the Supply Chain. Keep Production Moving.
We’re a fast-growing custom manufacturing company that builds high-impact visual environments—each project unique, fast-paced, and highly coordinated.
We’re looking for a Purchasing & Materials Analyst who takes pride in getting the right materials, at the right cost, at the right time—and building systems that make that happen consistently.
If you’re someone who enjoys negotiating smarter deals, managing vendors, and eliminating material-related surprises, this role puts you at the center of it all.
What You’ll Own
Purchasing & Materials Management (60%)
You’ll drive the performance of our supply chain and ensure production is never waiting on materials.
- Source and purchase materials (metals, acrylics, LEDs, vinyl, electrical, hardware, and specialty items)
- Build and manage strong vendor relationships (pricing, quality, reliability)
- Negotiate pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Set up and maintain Kanban / inventory systems for critical stock items
- Review job packets and drawings to validate BOM accuracy before ordering
- Monitor lead times and proactively resolve shortages or delays
- Maintain vendor database, pricing updates, and preferred supplier programs
- Process purchase orders with accurate coding for accounting
Inventory & Material Flow
You’ll create structure and predictability in how materials move through the business.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for standard materials
- Improve stock strategies to reduce shortages and excess inventory
- Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
- Partner with production teams to ensure materials are staged and ready
Production Coordination (20%)
You’ll help keep production aligned by ensuring material readiness supports the schedule.
- Coordinate with Production Leads and Project Managers on material availability
- Provide visibility into material status and potential risks
- Support updates to the production schedule based on material constraints
- Track WIP and maintain accurate job status in ERP
Data, Systems & Reporting (20%)
You’ll bring clarity through accurate data and reporting.
- Maintain ERP/MRP data (BOMs, inventory, job status, lead times)
- Run reports on material shortages, vendor performance, and cost trends
- Help build dashboards for purchasing and inventory visibility
- Identify trends and recommend improvements
What You Bring
Required:
- 2–4 years in purchasing, materials management, or supply chain (manufacturing preferred)
- Strong understanding of materials used in fabrication/manufacturing environments
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Kanban / pull systems
- Proven ability to negotiate and manage vendors
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points:
- Experience in custom or project-based manufacturing (architectural, fixtures, exhibits, etc.)
- Ability to read shop drawings and validate BOMs
- Lean / continuous improvement mindset
What Makes You Successful Here
- You think ahead of the problem, not after it happens
- You’re detail-driven and highly organized
- You build strong relationships with vendors and internal teams
- You take ownership of outcomes—not just tasks
- You thrive in a fast-moving, hands-on environment
How You’ll Be Measured
- Materials available before production needs them
- Supplier on-time delivery and performance
- Cost savings through negotiation and sourcing strategy
- Inventory accuracy and reduction in shortages
- Clean, reliable data in ERP systems
Why This Role is Different
- You’ll own purchasing strategy, not just execute orders
- You’ll directly impact cost, speed, and production reliability
- You’ll work across teams and influence how the business runs
- You’ll help build scalable systems as we grow
If This Sounds Like You…
You’re someone who takes pride in running a tight supply chain, building strong vendor partnerships, and making sure production never stops because of materials.
