Key Responsibilities
- Accurately manage and maintain patient dental records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Perform dental insurance verification and clearly explain coverage details and patient financial responsibilities.
- Utilize CDT (Current Dental Terminology) codes for accurate billing and claims processing.
- Maintain a strong understanding of dental terminology to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and staff.
- Submit, track, and follow up on dental insurance claims, including addressing denials and appeals.
- Collaborate with front desk and clinical staff to streamline office operations and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Ensure the practice complies with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a dental office is REQUIRED. Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Open Dental) is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of dental insurance plans, CDT coding, and dental procedures.
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, insurance providers, and team members.
- Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
