Role Description
The Payroll Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH. This position is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing on in-house payroll software including collecting and verifying timekeeping data, entering and maintaining employee payroll records, and ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs. Day-to-day tasks include handling payroll taxes, managing garnishments and other deductions, coordinating with accounting on payroll-related entries, and responding to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and confidential manner. The Payroll Coordinator will also assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, supporting audits and reporting, and partnering with HR and management to continuously improve payroll processes.
Qualifications
· Strong payroll administration and payroll processing skills, with experience managing regular and off-cycle payrolls.
· Working knowledge of payroll taxes and garnishments, including regulatory requirements and proper documentation.
· Basic to intermediate accounting skills, with the ability to reconcile payroll data and support general ledger entries.
· Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office (especially Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
· High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling employee and company information.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service mindset toward internal stakeholders.
· Organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
· Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, or related industries is preferred.
· Associate Degree or equivalent required; additional education or professional payroll certification is a plus.
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
