Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and sample collection.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic analyses to support accurate diagnoses.
- Prepare animals for examinations and surgeries by cleaning, grooming, and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices.
- Maintain detailed medical records, including documenting treatments, medications, and procedures using veterinary terminology.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and assist with radiographic imaging to aid in diagnosis.
- Provide pet care services including pet grooming, feeding, and administering medications under veterinary supervision.
- Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, and assisting with emergency procedures.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques while demonstrating excellent dog handling and animal handling skills.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment following aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
- Assist with laboratory work involving sample collection, processing, and analysis to support veterinary diagnostics.
- Support client education on pet care, animal physiology, and post-treatment instructions to promote pet health.
Requirements
- Proven kennel experience along with strong animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal animal comfort and safety.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices.
- Experience working with dogs in handling or training settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to pet dental health.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing equipment and X-ray technology preferred.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization, restraint, grooming, and basic pet care tasks efficiently.
- Prior veterinary technician experience is preferred; however, motivated entry-level candidates with relevant animal handling skills are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.

Pay: $23.10 - $27.81 per hour
